  6. Disclaimer   : All those typos in bad english aren't made on purpose.
  7.                Still, I'm using english in this jolly text because it
  8.                seems to be standard in scene. I'm 100% sure that
  9.                foreigners won't come anyway but here we go.
  10.  
  11. Date & Place : Demolition will be again held in the Joensuun Kauppaoppilaitos.
  12.                It is the same place than last time, it can hold about 250
  13.                people with some computer and hifi equipment. Date will be
  14.                friday 22-11-96 and doors will open at 2000.
  15.  
  16. Entrance fee : 100 Fim, girls and foreigners free.
  17.  
  18. Boozing      : Yes, we know, boozing is the (best?) part of the parties but
  19.                we surely can't allow as free politics as last time. We won't
  20.                confiscate your booze unless you drink it inside. We know
  21.                that all of you don't have a car so you can have your booze
  22.                fi. in your bag. Note! All confiscated booze will be most
  23.                likely consumed by organizers! Let's just hope for perfect
  24.                weather for having fun.

  26.                Duncan/Damones promised to take care of boozing organization.
  27.                Don't know what it means but I guess that at least guided
  28.                bar tour.

  30.                Be sure that you will be thrown out if we will catch
  31.                you smoking inside.
  32.  
  33. Projector    : Video projector will be the same than last time. Amiga will
  34.                be connected via tv-modulator and PC will use direct RGB
  35.                input. Do note that you shouldn't use tricky screen modes
  36.                since projector doesn't show 50hz modes (pc case of course).
  37.                If you want to use it make it optional. You may test your
  38.                product before competition. Also PA will be most likely the
  39.                same as last time.
  40.  
  41. Competitions : Again, we will have combined compos with Amiga and PC. Those
  42.                will be naturally demo, intro, music and graphics one. There
  43.                will be also fast compos and those are combined as well.
  44.  
  45. Preliminary

  60. Machines     : Amiga will be the best we can get. Most likely it
  61.                will be 060/50 but we can guarantee at least 040/40.
  62.                Make your product in a manner that it works on any
  63.                processor without special tricks.
  64.  
  65.                PC will be Pentium 120Mhz, Matrox Millenium and
  66.                1MB Gus standard. We will use MS-DOS 7.0 (Win95 dos
  67.                prompt only) for showing demos and intros. We will show
  68.                demos with clean boot, which in this case means himem.sys
  69.                and Scitech Display Doctor so it should be safe to use
  70.                svga resolutions and colors.
  71.  
  72.                I guess that all coders know this already but do not
  73.                assume that having scitech installed means that you
  74.                have possibility use 24bit modes. Some cards have
  75.                their truecolor mode done with 32bits, like Matrox
  76.                Millenium. More precisely, don't assume any modes,
  77.                check them before using.
  78.  
  79.                If you use svga graphics we strongly recommend you
  80.                to test your production before compo in compo machine.
  81.  
  82. Democompo    : These are the general rules for demo competition.
  83.  
  84.                - Maximum file size is four megabytes. Demo may be also
  85.                  pure animation file with sound but I guess you can't
  86.                  do much in four megabytes.
  87.  
  88.                - If demo is just an animation it has to be in
  89.                  executable form.
  90.  
  91.                - Demo must work with eight megabytes of ram
  92.                  but it may take advantage of more memory.
  93.  
  94.                - It must not write anything to harddisk nor any other
  95.                  media.
  96.  
  97.                - PC demos must work also without soundcard.
  98.  
  99.                - Please note projector limits mentioned before.
  100.                  PC max resulution is 640x480 and Amiga max resulution
  101.                  is 640x512.
  102.  
  103. Introcompo   : These are the general rules for intro competition.
  104.  
  105.                - Same rules as in demo competition but maximum file size
  106.                  for compo version is 80 kilobytes.
  107.  
  108.                - Release version can be larger and it must work without
  109.                  sound.
  110.  
  111. Graphics     : Maximum resolution will be 640x512 with 256 colors.
  112.                Amiga pictures will be shown with Amiga and PC pictures
  113.                will be shown with Compushow unless you want to use other
  114.                viewer. Please bring also the viewer with you.
  115.  
  116. Music        : Maximum of 32 channels are accepted. File size maximum is
  117.                one megabyte (1048576 bytes). All contributions must be
  118.                delivered on PC formatted disk and we will play modules with
  119.                Cubic player. If you aren't satisfied with Cubic Players sound
  120.                we also have the newest versions of FT2 and Capamod. Feel
  121.                free to bring your own player. ST3 seems to have some
  122.                problems in a machine we are going to use as a compo
  123.                machine.
  124.  
  125. Jury         : There will be a different juries for all the competitions.
  126.                All juries compose of two organizers and three randomly
  127.                chosen Demolition visitors.
  128.  
  129.                Naturally jury can disqualify any product if it is
  130.                racistic, shitty, previously released or violating any
  131.                copyrights. In music competition it is Jurys
  132.                opininion. Everyone can't be happy or do you wan't to
  133.                listen all those tunes? I don't think so.
  134.  
  135.                Organizers will decide whether they call juries up.
  136.                Jury will be called at least in music competition.
  137.  
  138. Prizes       : Well, Imagine situation if we had 10000 fim for
  139.                prizes. I just won't say you any figures since
  140.                it isn't sure if there will be but .. it's up to
  141.                you! All the money left over after expenses will be
  142.                given as prices. Organizers aren't going to be paid.

  157. Spreading    : All the productions will be released at the party place.
  158.                All the products will be uploaded to Manowar, Triplex BBS
  159.                and to somewhere in internet. Do note that we can't
  160.                guarantee that productions will be available next day.

  162. Other        : We will show some nice movies and old demonstrations
  163.                on big screen. If you have any movies you would like
  164.                to see in big screen bring it with you. We have time
  165.                for from two to four movies.
  166.  
  167. Cafe         : Unlike last time there will be at least a little
  168.                cafe selling coffee, lemonade and maybe even something
  169.                to eat :)
  170.  
  171. How to find  : If you come by bus or train just watch the map included
  172.                in invitation intro package. There is also maps in
  173.                stations and stations aren't that far away from
  174.                Kauppaoppilaitos unless you have much equipment. Then
  175.                I would recommend you to take a taxi, it won't cost much.
  176.                Don't walk over the river if you want to party place from
  177.                stations.

  179.                If you come by car it is quite easy to find it even
  180.                without map. If you come from north to Joensuu (Kuopio,
  181.                Jyväskylä, Kajaani) then just follow signs for Lappeenranta.
  182.                When you drive over a river (rather large, can't miss it)
  183.                just wait for next traffic lights and turn to right.
  184.                Then just drive a little bit more and follow the signs
  185.                of kauppaoppilaitos.

  187.                If you come from south to Joensuu (Anything via Lappeenranta)
  188.                just turn left in the first lights in Joensuu and then
  189.                follow the signs of kauppaoppilaitos.
